According to the 2012 Department of Energy data book, plug load represents 26% of a building’s electricity expenditure. Plug-IT is a wireless smart plug load device designed to address those needs by reducing energy costs simply and easily. The Plug-IT device provides users with control and power measurements of facilities equipment and provides on/off capabilities via a programmed schedule or on command from an energy management system. The Plug-IT Niagara AX driver allows you to seamlessly integrate Plug-IT devices into the Niagara AX framework.
Each Plug-IT contains a microprocessor that communicates with the JACE control software using your WiFi network. Every device is individually named and remembers complex on/off schedules that can be changed remotely.
Reporting tools analyze energy consumption and potential savings, and use the information to create optimal control schedules for your facility.
Driver Overview
The Plug-IT driver was designed to run on a Station that resides in a Jace or on a PC. This driver is an IP-based driver in the Niagara AX Framework. Once you establish your Plug-IT devices on a solid wireless network, you will need to connect your Jace, Soft Jace, and or Web Supervisor to a network that will route the Plug-IT devices to the wired network that the Niagara AX devices are physically connected to. At that point the
Plug-IT devices can be access from the “Plug-IT Driver” inside the Niagara AX Framework.
Built-in Network Discovery
The Plug-IT driver was designed with features such as built-in network discovery, along with device and object discovery once connected. Once connected to the Niagara AX Framework you can upload Niagara time schedules into the local Plug-IT devices. On Plug-IT models with current transducers, you can download the local history or assign additional histories to the other objects such as voltage, current, wattage and relay status.
