Description
The SBS-IOM series consists of compact fieldbus modules with inputs and outputs for mounting on DIN rails, on the mounting plate in the control cabinet or electrical distributor or in the 19" rack, for mounting on the door.
SBS IOM is an OAS hand control panel with emergency function for DIN rail mounting. It consists of different types of I/O modules on the DIN rail. The connection to the MODBus Master devices is made via an RS485 connection. The communication takes place via MODBus RTU. Functionally, the OAS manual control level replaces conventional switches and signal lamps, fault indication systems and coupling relays etc. in conventional control cabinets. Cost-intensive point-to-point connections can thus be largely replaced by more cost-effective bus cabling. Each module has its own RS485 bus interface, so no gateway module is required. The address is set on an 8-pin dip switch. The address range from 0 ... 254 is available.
The manual operating level works as a slave on the MODBus Master devices. The system can be used on all RS485 ports. The baud rate of the protocol is automatically detected after some telegrams.
